How to Remove Kodi Completely in Windows – Uninstall Kodi
I see some users are looking for solutions to remove Kodi, because they’re unable to complete he removal themselves. And some want to know how to clear the addons cache of Kodi. For both eeds I’m writing this article today.
How to Remove Kodi Addons Cache Manually?
To do this, simply go to the specific addon folder that you wish to clean, the path to that folder is dependent on the platform you’re on. Please note that in older versions of the software, the Kodi directions were named XBMC.
In Windows the folder should be C:\Users\”you”\AppData\Roaming\Kodi. Another way to find it is to enter “%APPDATA%\kodi\userdata” via the search box.
Regular Steps to Remove Kodi on Your PC
Perform the following steps (Apply to both Windows 8 and Windows 10) in Administrative Rights:
Step 1: Make sure Kodi is not running.
1.1 In the bottom-right corner of your screen, check the System Tray. If you see Kodi, right-click on it and select to close the program.
1.2 To make sure nothing related to the program is running in the back ground, press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Del on your keyboard to open the Task Manager. Find and End the processes related to the program.
Step 2: Remove Kodi through its built-in uninstaller.
2.1 Open the File Explorer by clicking the folder icon on the taskbar
2.2 navigate to X:\Programs Files (x86)\Kodi\, double-click the Uninstall.exe file under this folder to remove Kodi by activating the built-in uninstaller. (X represents the disk you installed the program.)
2.3 Follow the on-screen prompts to proceed with the removal.
2.4 In the middle you’ll be given the option (“Yes, I am sure and grant permission to also delete the profile folder”) to delete the profile folder of Kodi – Leave the option box unchecked to keep the folder which contains Kodi’s settings and library data for later use, and click Uninstall. Otherwise tick the option and click Uninstall.
2.5 Wait for the built-in uninstaller to finish its job.
Step 3: Remove the remaining files of Kodi.
3.1 Press and hold Windows key + C on your keyboard to open the Charms bar, and select Search, and enter “regedit” to open the Registry Editor.
3.2 (Optional) On the navigator, click File > Export…, type a name for the registry backup copy, and save it to your preferred location.
3.3 Navigate to this folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kodi\ and delete it.
3.4 On the navigator, click Edit > Find…, enter “Kodi” to search for other remaining files of the program, and delete them if found to completely remove Kodi.
3.5 If you haven’t restarted your computer once, restart it now. Then you can check whether the removal was successful.
How to Easily Remove Kodi with Max Uninstaller?

1. Click the green download button on the page to download & install Max Uninstaller, then run it.
2. Find & select Kodi in the Programs list, and click Run Analysis, a list of all the related files will be displayed > hit Complete Uninstall and follow the prompts to proceed.
3. Click Scan Leftovers when the button turns to green. This is to scan for the program’s vestiges, which will also be displayed in a list. You can review the list for details, then hit Delete Leftovers to remove Kodi completely.
To check whether you’ve done the removal well, click “Back to Step1.” You will be brought back to the programs list, where you can see all the currently installed programs on the system. Kodi should be gone by now, and you can try to uninstall other unwanted/needless programs by performing the same 3 steps above. 😀
