How to Uninstall Bing Desktop Completely With Max Uninstaller

Bing Desktop is a small application that allows computer users to get access to Bing Search engine, news and Facebook contents directly from their computer desktop without opening the website in browser.
How to uninstall Bing Desktop maually
As you can see, in the Windows program menu, there is no uninstall option Users can access to the default uninstall of Bing Desktop from Windows Control Panel to perform the removal, however, to completely remove Bing Desktop, you need to reach the Registry Editor to manually delete all the remaining entries and keys that failed to removed by its default uninstaller, here are the steps:
Part 1:
- Click Windows Start button at the bottom left of the screen.
- Click Control Panel > Add/Remove program.
- Locate Bing Desktop in the Add/Remove program list as the below screen shot.
- Click Remove button at the right hand to activate its default uninstaller.
- You will be asked ‘Are you sure you want to remove bing desktop from your computer?’, click Yes to continue.
- The removal will be started automatically, wait for a few seconds to allow the process finish.
Part 2: Remove leftovers
Normally people would think that performing the removal in Add/Remove program should be enough to get the Bing Desktop removed, however, as I mentioned earlier, here are still some files left inside the Windows registry still need to be taken care of:
- Open Run commend window from Start menu (Pressing Windows bottom + R key in your keyboard can also open the Run window )
- Type in regedit the Run window and press Enter to open registry editor.
- On the left hand of registry editor, Navigate to the location of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\.
- Delete the folder named BingDesktop within.
- Navigate to the location of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.
- Delete the BingDesktop folder.
(Note: please confirm twice before you delete the target registry leftover, if you mistakenly delete the wrong key, some of programs in your computer may end up malfunction even the whole system will too)
- Once you finished the deletion, close registry editor and reboot your computer once.
