How to Properly Remove NETGAR Genie from Your PC

NETGEAR Genie allows you to manage your home network remotely from your computer or mobile device. It is now supports a single sign-in (SSO) features that allows you to use one set of login credentials for all of your NETGEAR accounts.

2. Search for the program.
Press and hold the Windows key + C on your keyboard to open the Charms, and select Search.
3. Locate the program in the Programs list.
Type “NETGEAR Genie” in the box, right-click on the result and select Uninstall.
4. Remove NETGEAR Genie by activating its default uninstaller.
You’re brought to the Programs list. Double-click NETGEAR Genie to activate its uninstall wizard.
5. Let the built-in uninstall wizard finishes its job.
Confirm this removal and wait for the process to finish.
6. Go to the Registry Editor.
Press and hold the Windows key + C on your keyboard to open the Charms, select Search, and enter “regedit” in the box to open the Registry Editor.
7. Delete the vestiges to completely remove NETGEAR Genie.
Before doing this, you can choose to Back Up the Registry in case of any mistakes that cause the permanent loss of your data. Then continue the removal:
On the navigator of Registry Editor window, click Edit > Find…, then enter “NETGEAR Genie” to find the related file(s)/folder(s), right-click it(them) and select Delete.
8. Restart your computer.
If you like, go back to the System Tray, Task Manager or Control Panel and check whether NETGEAR Genie has been removed.
How to Remove NETGEAR Genie Using Max Uninstaller
This is another option you can take to easily remove NETGEAR Genie, Google Chrome, and Google Update Helper (if they exist). Only 3 steps you need to go through:
1. Download & install Max Uninstaller.
Since it’s a small-sized tool, the installation would be finished within a minute.
2. Remove NETGEAR Genie.
Open Max Uninstaller, and you will see clearly what programs you’re having on the computer. Find & select NETGEAR Genie as your target, then click Run Analysis to scan for all the related files > Hit Complete Uninstall to confirm the removal.
3. Easily find and delete the vestiges of NETGEAR Genie.
Now you’re deleting its vestiges. Click Scan Leftovers when it turns to green >Hit Delete Leftovers to completely remove NETGEAR Genie on your PC.

2. On the navigator, select File > Export….
3. Type a name for the back-up copy (.reg file) and select a location to save it to.
